We're getting you where you want to go faster than ever before.

We're implementing a plan to solve the transportation problems Texans are facing, such as increased congestion, reduced maintenance and the lack of new capacity.

We're working on innovative solutions to get transportation off your mind so that you can get on with your life.

Texas has a transportation problem. Our population is growing, but our ability to expand and maintain your transportation system is shrinking. However, the good news is that there is a plan to solve this problem.

We have been hard at work, and with the help of the public, local leaders, the governor, and the Legislature, we have developed and are implementing a real plan to reduce congestion, enhance safety, improve air quality, expand economic opportunity and increase the value of our transportation assets.

To achieve our goals, we're opening our doors to private businesses and innovative partnerships.

What does all of this mean?

Using new funding tools, we are going to:

  • Deliver transportation projects sooner
  • Give more decision-making power to regions
  • Lower the cost to deliver infrastructure
  • Deliver the projects consumers want most

Here are just some of the benefits:

  • Drivers will face less congestion
  • Businesses will have more reliable transportation networks
  • Users will have more choices, including rail and transit
  • More job opportunities will arise due to new and improved trade and transport corridors
  • New corridors will divert traffic
  • Air quality will improve due to smoother traffic flow
  • Projects needed most will get funded sooner and built faster
  • Texans will have safe, well-maintained and up-to-date roads

Though Texas has a transportation problem, we have a plan, and we will soon see more open roads, cleaner air, fewer hazards, more jobs and a much improved transportation system that will move Texas forward.
